Express say Chelsea have opened Kante contract talks

The stories involving Chelsea in Wednesday’s newspapers…

The Daily Express say Chelsea have opened talks with N’Golo Kante – who is currently at the World Cup with finalists France – over a new contract.

Reports in France have touted the midfielder for a possible move to Paris St-Germain, while Juventus have also been linked with him.

Kante, 27, still has three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Express claim talks have begun over a new deal worth around £200,000 a week.

Kante has been repeatedly linked with PSG

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Chelsea are closing in on a £35m deal for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani and are ready to sell David Luiz, who continues to be linked with Napoli.

The Sun declare that Fulham could beat Chelsea and Arsenal to the signing of Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

Both the Blues and Arsenal have been repeatedly linked with the Ivory Coast international despite not making an approach, but West London Sport recently revealed that Fulham had made a move for him.

The Sun also say Chelsea fear Real Madrid will target Blues star Eden Hazard after selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

And the Daily Star continue to link Robert Lewandowski with a potential move to Chelsea despite German newspaper Bild reporting that the striker is set to stay at Bayern Munich.

The Star quotes a source as saying: “Bild published a fake story saying Robert is now ready to stay.

“Nothing has changed, Robert wishes to leave and Bayern refuse to sell. He will keep pushing to go.”
