Wales boss Ryan Giggs has again heaped praise on Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu.

The 18-year-old impressed when given a chance in the Blues first team last season but has not featured since Maurizio Sarri took over as boss.

However, he has made an impact on the international stage, earning rave reviews for his recent performances for Wales.

Ampadu is part of Giggs’ squad for a friendly against Spain on Thursday and a Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland five days later.

“It’s hard not to get carried away with Ethan because I think he can be anything he wants to be,” said Giggs.

“He is only 18 and he’s not playing regularly, so you have to take that into account. But what a player and character to have – a manager’s dream.

“I know that he loves coming away and playing for his country, and that’s a massive plus for me.”
