No international duty for Chelsea keeper Mendy

Edouard Mendy will not be going on international duty with Senegal.

The Chelsea goalkeeper will have a dental procedure instead of being involved for his country, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel revealed after the FA Cup win against Sheffield United.


Tuchel explained: “Edouard Mendy will stay because he has an operation on his tooth. It absolutely needs to be done.”

The issue will not keep Mendy out of any Premier League matches after the international break, Tuchel added.

“That’s why we’re doing it now,” the German said.
