Chelsea trio doubtful for FA Cup game

Marcos Alonso looks unlikely to be available for Chelsea’s FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest, while Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour are both struggling.

Alonso has been nursing a hamstring problem and is expected to miss the third-round tie at Stamford Bridge.

And Jody Morris has revealed that Tomori is “not feeling the best” despite training on Friday, while Gilmour missed the session because of illness.

Several in the Chelsea camp have been unwell in recent days – including manager Frank Lampard.

Morris therefore stood in for Lampard at a news conference on Friday afternoon and the assistant boss confirmed that changes are likely to be made to the side.

Gilmour would have been expected to be involved, but it now seems likely that the young midfielder will miss out.

Morris said: “We may look to rotate a little bit. We will look at how the lads are feeling.

“You need to utilise the squad at this time of year. I’m sure there will be a few changes, but how many I’m not too sure yet.”
