Chelsea make it four WSL wins in a row
Chelsea won 3-0 at West Ham in the Women’s Super League, with goals from Melvine Malard, Keira Walsh and Maika Hamano making it four league wins in a row.
Sonia Bompastor’s side had control of the game at the Chigwell Construction Stadium but did not score until the 38th minute. Sjoeke Nusken was tackled in the penalty area and the ball fell to Malard, who finished into the bottom corner.
Chelsea created several chances before adding a second. Nusken shot over from close range after Walsh played a ball across the box, and Kadeisha Buchanan headed off target. Walsh then hit the post and put another effort wide. She made it two with 10 minutes left, collecting a pass from Wieke Kaptein on the edge of the box and hitting it into the bottom corner.
Hamano, making her first start of the season, headed in from close range to complete the win.
