Transfer gossip: Reports claim Chelsea have offered £18m for keeper Mendy

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea continue to be linked with goalkeepers amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

A host of keepers have been touted as a potential replacement for Kepa, who was dropped by boss Frank Lampard last season and is expected to be offloaded this summer.

They include Rennes’ Edouard Mendy, who has been linked with a number of European clubs.

And the Express have picked up on a story by Goal France, which claimed that Chelsea have lodged an improved bid of £18m for Mendy after supposedly having one for £15m rejected.

Rice speculation continues

Chelsea have again been tipped to move for West Ham star Declan Rice.

Rice, who was on Chelsea’s books before joining the Hammers, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time.

The Sun declare that the Blues are ready to move for him and are confident the asking price will come down.

West Ham are said to be looking for £80m for the England international, who has also been linked with Manchester City.

The Sun say Chelsea know the east London club need to sell in order to buy players and that they are “prepared to play the long game” in negotiating a deal.
