Transfer gossip: More speculation over Kante’s future

Some of the stories in Tuesday’s newspapers involving Chelsea…

N’Golo Kante continues to be linked with a potential move away from Chelsea.

The midfielder has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris St-Germain in the last year or so.

Now Inter Milan are being linked with Kante, who was plagued by injuries for much of last season.

The Daily Express claim Inter’s former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is determined to sign Kante and that the Blues have placed an £80m price tag on him.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Chelsea intend to make an improved offer for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy after supposedly having a £14m bid rejected.

Once again there are reports that a deal has been struck between Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz.

The Guardian believe Chelsea will pay an initial £72m for the German winger and that his move to Stamford Bridge is close.

And Crystal Palace-bound Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher is also wanted by Leeds and Newcastle, according to the Daily Mail.

Several clubs have enquired about Gallagher but he is set to join Palace on a season-long loan.
