Lampard considering changes for Norwich game

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard is considering making changes for Chelsea’s game against Norwich.

The Blues boss made his annoyance clear after Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Sheffield United.

And Lampard has confirmed he could shuffle the pack for tonight’s match at Stamford Bridge.

He made four changes after Chelsea’s recent defeat at West Ham.

Asked if he might react a similar way to the defeat at the weekend, Lampard said: “Possibly. I don’t want to give my starting line-up away but what I have got is a group where there are people competing to try to get into the team.

“There has to be a level where, if we make mistakes or if we’re not reaching the levels we want, then the people who are working hard in training can come in and offer something better.

“I also have to consider the freshness of the squad. So I’m considering that. We’ll see.

“As much as we would like a settled team and I would love to have certain partnerships and keep going, where we’re at means that hasn’t been easy.”

Lampard is still without N’Golo Kante but the midfielder might be available again for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.
