Diego Costa and Eden Hazard are expected to be passed fit for Chelsea’s game at Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Blues striker Costa picked up a groin injury during the recent win at Everton and withdrew from the Spain squad for this week’s international matches.

And Hazard picked up a knock while playing for Belgium against Estonia, but fears the injury was serious have since been allayed.

Costa’s fitness will be assessed on Saturday but he returned to training this week and Antonio Conte expects him to be available for the trip to Teesside.

Cesc Fabregas has also been passed fit following his recent injury.

“Costa had a bit of an injury after the game against Everton,” said Blues boss Conte.

“He started to train with us on Wednesday and his physical condition is good. There is also tomorrow to see the situation, but at the moment he can play.”

Hazard scored in Belgium’s 8-0 win but went off on 72 minutes following a challenge.

“Eden had a tackle but can play. [Fabregas] now is in a good shape, he’s available for Sunday.” Conte confirmed.
