Chelsea will need to assess the fitness of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Gary Cahill ahead of the trip to face Manchester City.

Hudson-Odoi has been ill this week, while defender Cahill, who has been a fringe player under Maurizio Sarri, has been nursing a slight back problem.

Boss Sarri is hopeful both players will be available to be included in the squad for Sunday’s game at the Etihad Stadium.

Sarri explained: “Odoi had a fever but only for one day. Yesterday we had a little problem with Cahill in his back – nothing serious.

“I think every player will be available for this match. I hope so – I don’t know. We have to do another two training sessions.”
