A last-gasp Casemiro goal denied Chelsea victory at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho’s penalty with three minutes remaining seemed to have given the Blues the points.

It was an off-colour performance by Graham Potter’s side. United were much more positive for large spells.

Chelsea struggled to impose themselves for much of the first half.

They gradually improved as the second half progressed, albeit lacking in real conviction, and Trevoh Chalobah provided their best chance, but the defender’s header from a Mason Mount corner clipped the crossbar.

The Blues won a late spot kick when substitute Armanda Broja was dragged down in the penalty area by Scott McTominay.

Jorgihno made no mistake, sending keeper David De Gea the wrong way – but Chelsea were to be ultimately thwarted.

United responded in stunning fashion when Casemiro arched himself to head past a despairing Kepa, who could only push the ball on to the post and over the line.

Chelsea: Kepa, Chilwell, Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Cucurella (Kovacic 35), Silva, Mount, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek (Chukwuemeka, 78), Sterling (Broja, 78) Aubameyang (Pulisic 73)
