Chelsea confirm signing of striker Ba
Chelsea have formally completed the signing of striker Demba Ba from Newcastle.
The Senegal international, who will wear the number 29 shirt for his new club, moved to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea activated a £7.5m release clause in his Magpies contract.
Ba, 27, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and will be eligible for selection for this weekend’s FA Cup match at Southampton.
He can also play in the Capital One Cup semi-final against Swansea next week but will not be available in the Europa League, as he has appeared in the competition for Newcastle this season.
