Chelsea confirm deal to sign Hazard

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Belgian Eden Hazard from Lille.

The versatile forward, who can play up front or on the wing, will join his new team-mates when they return for the start of pre-season training.

Tottenham and both Manchester clubs also expressed an interest in the 21-year-old, who opted for a move to west London following weeks of speculation about his future.

He was outstanding in France’s Ligue 1 last season, enhancing his reputation as one of Europe’s brightest prospects.

Hazard becomes the fourth Belgium international at Stamford Bridge, joining Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
