Chelsea complete signing of Chilwell

Chelsea FC: Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have completed the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester.

The England international left-back has moved to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth in excess of £50m. He has signed a five-year contract.

Chilwell, 23, said: “I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season.

“I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we’re playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.”

Fulham’s Joe Bryan is among the potential replacements for Chilwell being considered by Leicester.

Bryan was Fulham’s play-off final hero, with his two extra-time goals clinching victory over Brentford at Wembley and the Whites’ return to the top flight.

He has made 78 appearances for Fulham since being signed from Bristol City two years ago.

Fulham recently signed left-back Antonee Robinson from Wigan.
