Chelsea boss stands by Lukaku decision
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted he does not regret allowing striker Romelu Lukaku to join Everton on loan for the season.
Lukaku, who cannot be recalled by the Blues, impressed while on loan at West Brom last term and was hoping to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.
However, Mourinho is keen to work with a squad of only 22 and was prepared to let the Belgian forward go elsewhere.
He is left with Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and recent signing Samuel Eto’o, who have managed to score only one goal between them so far this season.
But Mourinho stands by his decision to loan Lukaku out.
He said: “I think it’s good for Lukaku if he is going to play in every game – good for his future and the future of Chelsea. So I don’t regret it. Not at all.”
