Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says N’Golo Kante has become a much better player since joining the Blues just over a year ago.

Kante scored the second goal in a 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday, the team he left last summer.

Conte declared that Kante played “an amazing game” against his former side.

“We are used to seeing this,” the Italian added. “He is a fantastic player.

“It is incredible to see a lot of runs. He made good runs but also with good quality. He is improving a lot his passes and his finishing.

“It is very important to see that this player is improving step by step. He is improving his weaknesses. Now, N’Golo is a really top player.”

Conte believes there is also there is more to come from Tiemoue Bakayoko, who partnered his fellow Frenchman in central midfield at the King Power Stadium.

Summer signing Bakayoko was not fit enough to begin the season, but made his Chelsea second start on Saturday.

“I think Baka is improving his condition and also he is starting to understand and to adapt himself to our style of football,” Conte said.

“For sure has to improve with the ball because without the ball he is very strong.

“Baka is a young player and he is a good signing for us. But he has a lot of space to improve with the ball.”
