Chelsea boss plays down Cavani link

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has played down reports he plans to table a bid for Paris St-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguay international, 26, was reported to be a Chelsea target before moving to France from Napoli last July.

And he has been linked with a possible big-money transfer to Stamford Bridge this summer.

But Mourinho said: “No. In this moment we are not trying to sign anybody.”

Asked if Cavani was a possible target for the summer, he replied: “I have no idea. He just arrived at his club six months ago.

“Maybe he is so happy he doesn’t want to leave and maybe his club don’t want him to leave.”
