Chelsea announce arrival of Essugo

Chelsea have announced the signing of Dario Essugo from Sporting.

The deal to buy the midfielder was agreed in March along with the signing of winger Geovany Quenda, who will move to Stamford Bridge at the end of next season.

Essugo, 20, has joined the Blues for £18m and will be eligible to play in the Club World Cup next month.

The Portugal Under-21 international has been given an eight-year contract.

He was on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas this season.
