Chalobah sent off as Chelsea youngsters lose

Trevoh Chalobah was sent off as Chelsea’s development side ended their season with a 2-1 defeat against Derby County.

Chalobah, the younger brother of Blues midfielder Nathaniel, was shown a straight red card at Pride Park after bringing down Mason Bennett seven minutes into the second half.

By that stage the home side were already ahead courtesy of goals from Mason and Kellan Gordon.

After Mason had opened the scoring. Ike Ugbo equalised after being set up by Kyle Scott – the striker’s 25th goal of the season.

Gordon restored Derby’s lead before the interval and and Chelsea’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a major blow when they were reduced to 10 men.

The result means Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League 2 table.
