Blues confirm signing of defender Zouma

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma for a deal reported to be worth £12m.

The 19-year-old centre-back has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract has been loaned back to the French club for the rest of the season.

Touted as a potential long-term replacement for Blues skipper John Terry, Zouma attracted interest from several top European clubs.

St Etienne had always insisted the France Under-21 international would end the season with them.
