Blues agree fee for Basel star Salah

Chelsea look set to pip Liverpool to the signing of FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah.

The Blues have agreed a fee with the Swiss club for the highly-rated 21-year-old, who scored in both group stage matches against Chelsea in the Uefa Champions League this season.

He will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical at Stamford Bridge before becoming Jose Mourinho’s second signing of the January transfer window after Nemanja Matic.

Liverpool have long been linked with Salah, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers earlier on Thursday calling the Egyptian ‘a talented player’.

But Chelsea have struck a deal first and will hope to complete the formalities before the FA Cup clash with Stoke City on Sunday.

Salah, who was the joint leading scorer in the African section of World Cup qualifying, first came to prominence in last season’s Europa League when he helped Basel reach the semi-finals against Chelsea.

He scored in the second leg at Stamford Bridge and then also scored against the Blues home and away in the Champions League this term.

  • fsg and Br will have to come on the pitch and play themselves.im sure they are targetting another one for totenham .this is exactly what happen when you take too much time and you d'ont pay the right money .allwe can here lfc are injuries ,millions of players being targetted and linked with, players being loaned to other clubs and of course to miss on signing players to other clubs .these are what we as liv fans are living since the openning of the transfer window but we are wandering if its worthy to support a team that always disappoint us ,a team with stubborns heads who cares only about themselves .how is it that teams like chealsea have been reinforced and liv which every persons were expected to buy at least three players have not even one at this point of this transfer window.is there a matter about owners?do americans really like ftball or do they just pretend?how is it that they miss on five key targets.what will happen in the next remaining days?i think its time to find where the problem come from and to solve it once for all .im afraid to read about lfc cause i dont wanna fall on more bad news.i wish the transfer window to be closed but i realised that after that still we w'ont be in peace because we will read about defeats , so always deceits .sometimes i wonder how a team which have been champion for 18 times and win several trophies has fall in such a low position .in 23yrs have not been able to be champ at least once , its not possible .its begin to be hard to be a liv fan.
