Ryan Bertrand has joined Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old England international, recently linked with moves to Liverpool and Southampton, has been out of favour at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.
He has made only three starts for the Blues this season, with boss Mourinho preferring to use Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back in place of Ashley Cole.
Villa are the sixth club to take Bertrand on loan from Chelsea. Earlier in his career he had spells at Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest.
“He is a good player, he needs to play and he’s happy with that,” Mourinho said.
