Davison nets again as Chelsea Ladies win

Gemma Davison scored her fifth goal in four games as Chelsea Ladies beat Arsenal Ladies 2-1 to move in to the semi-finals the FA Women’s Cup.

Katie Chapman put the Blues ahead with a powerful header after 17 minutes of an exciting quarter-final tie at Boreham Wood.

And winger Davison, a close-season signing from Liverpool, made it 2-0 when she found the top corner with a fine strike.

Davison and Aluko also both went close for the Women’s Super League leaders in the first half, but Arsenal pulled a goal back just before the break through Emma Mitchell’s curling shot.

Both sides had chances in an even second period but Chelsea, who have never won the trophy, held out against the 13-time winners and are now just one game away from Wembley
