Chelsea Ladies closer to title after win at Everton

Chelsea Ladies won 1-0 at Everton on Wednesday evening to move a step closer to the title.

Magdalena Eriksson’s 12th-minute goal was enough to give the Women’s Super League leaders victory as they chase the Treble.

Swedish defender Eriksson headed Ramona Bachmann’s free-kick in off the bar.

Eniola Aluko, Fran Kirby and Millie Bright all went close to scoring a second goal for Chelsea as they dominated the game.

But Everton almost grabbed an equaliser with three minutes remaining when Angharad James’ effort hit the bar.

Emma Hayes’ side are next in action on Friday, when they are at home to German team Wolfsburg in the first leg of the Women’s Champions League semi-finals.

On May 5 they will take on Arsenal at Wembley in the Women’s FA Cup final.
