Chelsea Ladies punished for mistakes by Arsenal

Chelsea Ladies were beaten 2-0 at home by Arsenal in the group stage of Continental Cup.

Both goals came in the first half at Staines and were scored by Spain midfielder Marta Corredera following mix-ups involving goalkeeper Marie Hourihan.

Corredera scored into an empty net after a mix-up between Hourihan and Gilly Flaherty and was gifted another simple tap-in when Hourihan collided with team-mate Ana Borges.

Millie Bright twice went close for the hosts in the second half.

And recent signing Fran Kirby, making her first start for Chelsea, had an effort saved by keeper Sari Van Veenendaal.
