Kirby’s double puts Chelsea Ladies into Women’s FA Cup final

Fran Kirby scored both goals as Chelsea Ladies beat Manchester City 2-0 in the Women’s FA Cup semi-final.

Emma Hayes’ side, who will face Arsenal in the final at Wembley on 5 May, made perfect start, going ahead after just five minutes when Kirby slotted home following a mistake by City’s Steph Houghton.[phone]

Another error, this time by Jen Beattie, led to Kirby scoring her second with 16 minutes remaining.

It leaves the Women’s Super League leaders and Champions League semi-finalists in with a chance of winning the Treble.

A crowd of more than 3,000 saw the game at Kingsmeadow.
