Zamburek loaned out and Dervisoglu could go too

Brentford winger Jan Zamburek has signed for League One Shrewsbury on a season-long loan.

Zamburek, 19, joined the Bees’ B team in 2018 from Slavia Prague and signed a new four-year deal last season having featured mostly as a substitute in the first half of last season.

Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts said the signing was a coup for his club.

“Jan has done really, really well at Brentford,” Ricketts told the club’s website.

“He got in and around their first team and has made a number of appearances for them. Brentford were top of the league for a lot of the season and just missed out on promotion.

“He’s a young player we were really keen to bring in. We had to fight off one of the biggest clubs in this league to secure his services. We are really pleased to have him in and we are looking forward to working with him.”

The Bees are also looking to loan out Turkish striker Halil Dervisoglu, who joined in the January transfer window for £1.6m from Sparta Rotterdam, with a number of clubs interested in the 20-year-old.
