Striker Grella in Brentford exit

Striker Mike Grella has left Brentford by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old American joined the Bees from Leeds United last summer and scored four times in a 6-0 demolition of Bournemouth in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in November.

But he struggled to hold down a first-team place at Griffin Park and his contract has been cancelled after he made it clear he wanted to move on.

He made 12 league appearances this season – all but one of them as a substitute.
