Saville remains keen to stay at Brentford

On-loan Chelsea youngster George Saville says he remains keen to extend his spell at Brentford.

The midfielder’s loan deal expires in January and Bees boss Mark Warburton is in talks with Chelsea about keeping him for the rest of the season.

And Saville, 20, wants to stay at Griffin Park, where Warburton, previously Brentford’s sporting director, was recently installed as manager in the wake of Uwe Rosler’s departure for Wigan.

“Nothing has changed in my mind,” said Saville, who has made 18 appearances in League One this season.

“Uwe has gone off and done his thing but I’m still a Brentford player. I’m still going to be here and hopefully maintain my good form.

“I was a little bit disappointed that Uwe, left because we were on a good run and picking up results, but the week after he left has been good.

“It’s a change but not as big a change as it could have been. We all know Mark, we know his character and training has been good – it’s been lively.

“Mark is here now so let’s hope we can continue our good form under him.”
