Rosler pep talk inspired win – Douglas
Jonathan Douglas revealed a half-time pep talk from boss Uwe Rosler inspired Brentford’s 2-1 victory over Carlisle.
The midfielder scored his first ever goal at Griffin Park before Paul Hayes turned in the winner to extend the Bees’ recent good run.
“We started sluggishly for whatever reason so there were some words at half-time from the manager,” Douglas told West London Sport.
“We didn’t show up in the first half, scored a goal against the run of play, and they deserved to equalise. They were better than us.
“But after we spoke at half-time and changed things slightly we were much better in the second half.
“We got around the pitch better, chased them down and then our own passing game came into it. In the end we deserved the result.”
