Rosler hopeful as Moore battles to be fit

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler is hopeful goalkeeper Simon Moore will be fit for the start of the new season.

Moore suffered an ankle injury during last week’s pre-season friendly against Millwall and has subsequently missed games against Celtic and Boreham Wood.

Rosler remains optimistic the 22-year-old will resume full training shortly, but has suggested he will not consider him for the opening-day clash at Port Vale unless Moore is able to play in next Tuesday’s friendly against Cardiff.

“He needs games. I think if Simon Moore doesn’t play in the Cardiff game he doesn’t play in the first league game,” said Rosler.

“He’s starting to do light training. Hopefully by the end of the week he will be in full training.

“I hope [he will be fit] and our medical staff are normally very accurate with their predictions.”

Defender Harlee Dean, who picked up a knock against Celtic, is also expected to resume training this week.
