Stories involving the area’s clubs in Sunday’s newspapers…

Crystal Palace are poised to swoop for Brentford star Said Benrahma, according to The Sun on Sunday.

West Ham have shown a strong interest in the Algerian winger but are not prepared to pay the £20m asking price.

The Sun on Sunday say Palace, who have already bought Ebere Eze from QPR, are now well placed to pick up Benrahma.

The newspaper declare that Palace “have waited weeks for the right moment” to make their move for Benrahma.

Meanwhile. the Mail on Sunday say Arsenal are ready to pay £10m for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

Leeds are looking to buy Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, again according to the Mail on Sunday.

The youngster is due to sign a new contract and then be loaned out again by the Blues, having impressed on loan last season at Charlton and then Swansea.

He was set to join Crystal Palace but the deal was delayed and the Eagles then snapped up Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea on loan.

It means Gallagher cannot now move to Selhurst Park as Premier League sides cannot have more than one player on loan from the same top-flight club at any one time.

The Mail on Sunday say West Brom and Aston Villa are keen to take Gallagher on loan but that Leeds want to sign him on a permanent deal.

The Mail on Sunday also say Inter Milan’s former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to sign Marcos Alonso from the Blues.
