Odubajo strikes as Bees beat Palace

Summer signing Moses Odubajo scored a fine goal to give Brentford a 3-2 win against Crystal Palace.

Jonathan Douglas and Andre Gray also scored for the Bees in an entertaining  pre-season friendly at Griffin Park.

The home side almost ahead midway through the first half when Gray’s chip was cleared off the line by Adrian Mariappa.

Douglas’ solo goal opened the scoring after the restart. He turned Mariappa and Scott Dann before firing past Palace keeper Julian Speroni.

Gray doubled the hosts’ lead, turning well and firing low into the bottom right-hand corner before Palace replied through Glenn Murray.

Former Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh levelled a minute later, tapping in from close range after keeper David Button had failed to hold Joe Ledley’s shot.

But Odubajo responded in style, cleverly beating Joel Ward before cutting in and rifling the ball into Speroni’s bottom corner.
