Odubajo leaving Brentford along with Barbet, McEachran and Macleod

Moses Odubajo has been released by Brentford.

Odubajo, who was in his second spell at the club, is leaving along with Yoann Barbet, Josh McEachran and Lewis Macleod when their contracts expire at the end of next month.

The departures of Barbet and McEachran were expected, while Macleod has been plagued by injuries since being signed from Glasgow Rangers in 2015.

But the release of Odubajo, 25, is something of a surprise.

Having left Griffin Park for Hull in 2015, his time in the north was ruined by knee trouble.

He rejoined the Bees on a one-year deal last summer after a trial and seemed to prove his fitness, making 35 appearances during the season, starting 22 Championship matches.

But the club have decided not to take up an option to keep him and Odubajo will be moving on, as will goalkeeper Jack Bonham.
