Christian Norgaard is getting “closer and closer” to a return to first-team action but will not be available for Brentford’s game against Derby.
Norgaard has been out for around two months after suffering an ankle injury against Preston.
But boss Thomas Frank says the Danish midfielder has been back in training and is not far off getting back on the pitch.
“He’s getting closer I would say,” Frank said.
“He’s not available for Wednesday but he has been training for the last two days.
“He’s been here and around the group so it’s getting closer and closer.
“I’m also getting impatient and Christian is getting impatient. We just want to involve him but we need to be clever.
“There’s a lot of games that still need to be played in the season.”
Brentford have no new injury worries ahead of the match against the Rams, who are unbeaten in their last three games.
