Midfielder to miss Bees clash with Bournemouth

Brentford midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth due to an adductor injury.

The Dane, who has struggled to make an impact at the club after joining from Sampdoria last season in a £15 million deal, had not featured in the last two matches against Crystal Palace and Newport.

The 23-year-old came off the bench in the opening two fixtures of the season against Spurs and Fulham but Bees boss Thomas Frank confirmed he will not return until after the international break and has pulled out of the Denmark squad.

“It is not serious but it will keep him out for a few weeks,” Frank said.

Ben Mee is available for selection after playing against Newport in the Carabao Cup in midweek but Sheldon Baptiste and Josh DaSilva sidelined with long-term injuries.
