Emiliano Marcondes scored the winner as Brentford beat Shrewsbury 3-2 in a pre-season friendly.

Recent signing Luka Racic featured for the Bees, who went ahead courtesy of an early goal from Finnish striker Marcus Forss.

Fejiri Okenabirhie levelled a minute later but Brentford regained the lead courtesy of an own goal by Aristote Nsiala shortly before the half-hour mark.

Following Marcondes’ corner, Sergi Canós fired against the post and the ball struck Nsiala and rebounded into the net.

The home side responded again, this time courtesy of Aaron Amandi-Holloway’s equaliser 10 minutes into the second half.

But the impressive Marcondes netted with nine minutes remaining, finishing from close range after being set up by Ali Coote.

Brentford: Daniels; Clarke, Racic (Coote 78), Barbet, Field; Woods, Sawyers (Edobor 78), Marcondes; Canós, Ogbene (Mitchell 87), Forss (Titov 78).
