David Luiz apologised to Jake Reeves after leaving him concussed during the FA Cup fourth-round replay at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz was lucky to stay on the pitch after a shoulder-barge floored the teenager, who had come on as a substitute for Brentford in their 4-0 defeat.
Bees boss Uwe Rosler revealed that the Chelsea defender had spoken to Reeves following the match.
Rosler said: “Jake is fine. He wanted to continue but our medical staff said it was best for him not to. He’ll be okay for next week.
“I have not seen the incident clearly enough to make a statement about it. I had just turned around when it happened.
“The player came into our dressing room and I think he spoke to Jake. It’s a fantastic gesture. I think he has apologised.”
