Brentford pulled off a remarkable late comeback, with Bryan Mbeumo’s penalty giving them a dramatic victory.

The Bees, trailing to Emmanuel Dennis’ first-half opener, equalised when Pontus Jansson headed in with four minutes remaining.

And Mbeumo scored from the spot after Saman Ghoddos had been fouled in the box.

The win took Brentford up to ninth in the Premier League table.

Watford forward Josh King hit the post before Dennis rose above Jansson to head home a Tom Cleverley corner.

Brentford improved and were more aggressive after the break but found the Hornets resilient.

Eventually, their persistence paid dividends.

With Watford failing to clear a corner, Vitaly Janelt composed himself to clip in a cross from the right and, with assistance from substitute Marcus Forss, Jansson nipped in ahead of William Ekong to head past keeper Daniel Bachmann.

And after Ghoddos was brought down by Ekong with moments remaining, Mbeumo coolly netted.
