In-form striker Trotta hailed by manager

Boss Mark Warburton praised in-form striker Marcello Trotta after his sublime goal helped Brentford to an eighth straight win in League One.

Buoyed by the extension of his loan deal from Fulham until the end of the season, Trotta produced a piece of individual brilliance to grab his eighth Bees goal of the campaign.

And Warburton wants to see Trotta, who will join up with Italy’s Under-21 squad this week, maintain his fine form.

“He’s been very bright in training. All week he has been outstanding,” Warburton said.

“He’s got a point to prove. He wants to show the crowd he’s passionate about playing for Brentford Football Club.

“He is a very talented young player and done very well. But he’s got to keep demanding that of himself week-in, week-out, and maintain a level of consistency.”
