Brentford sign Palace youngster Russell

Brentford have completed the signing of teenage defender Jude Russell from Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old centre-back (pictured above in the centre) joins Daniel Oyegoke, who has been signed from Arsenal. Both will initially play for Brentford’s B team.

Russell has signed a one-year contract with the option of an additional year. He impressed during a recent trial with the Bees.

Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane told the club website: “Jude’s trial with us got better and better.

“As he built his fitness levels and started to add more tactical details to his game, he improved every training session as well as each game that we got to see him play in.

“From a physical perspective, he’s very good and he has good capabilities.

“He’s coming to us from another Premier League club and he’s that type of player that we want to work with, as we have done with other players in recent years.”
