Brentford assessing Henderson injury after cup win
Brentford are assessing an injury Jordan Henderson picked up during their FA Cup victory at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Bees won 2-0 to progress to the fourth round, with Keane Lewis-Potter opening the scoring and Mathias Jensen converting a penalty.
But veteran midfielder Henderson did not appear for the second half after being hurt late in the first.
Boss Keith Andrews said: “There was slight contact on the top of the foot or ankle. He might have rolled it as he landed.
“We felt at half-time that it wasn’t worth risking. Could he potentially have played on? Maybe. I’m not sure. But we made a decision not to risk it. We’ll see how he is over the coming days.”
Andrews hopes his side can enjoy a run in the competition now they are safely over their first hurdle.
“We are taking it very seriously. Last season we saw what was capable with Crystal Palace winning the cup,” he said.
