Goalkeeper Cox signs new Brentford deal

Matthew Cox has become the latest player to put pen to paper on a new deal with Brentford.

The goalkeeper has signed a new six-year contract with the club to take him up until the summer of 2028, along with the option of a further year.

Cox, 19, is highly rated by the club and recently won the U19 European Championships with England.

“I am very pleased that Matt has signed a new long-term contract with us,” Boss Thomas Frank said

“I think Matt has all the attributes a modern goalkeeper needs. He has very good positioning when coming for crosses and is a great shot stopper and with the ball at his feet.”

Right-back Fin Stevens also recently signed a new long-term deal with the club and now looks set to head out on loan this summer, with several clubs interested.
