Frank savours first win as Bees boss

Thomas Frank was relieved to get his first win as Brentford boss but insisted his side can still improve.

Sergi Canos and Ollie Watkins scored in the second half as the Bees beat Millwall 2-0 for a first win in nine league games.

And Frank said: “It feels good – quite pleasing overall. But it’s not about me, it’s about us.

“The boys did brilliant. We have all been suffering a little bit. In a lot of the games we lost we deserved more. The only way was to continue the hard work.

“We never lost belief but everyone knows it’s easier with that bit more confidence.

“We did okay in the first half today and did better in the second. I wasn’t totally satisfied but after the second goal it was a clear win.

“We needed more desire to get on the ball and we did that today.

“The centre-backs – wow – they are staring to learn, especially if they can keep with the likes of Tom Elliot and Steve Morison for Millwall.”
