Bees ‘are very dangerous when it’s clicking’ – Frank

Thomas Frank put Brentford’s inability to find the net against Stoke down to their opponents’ resolute defending.

The Bees were held to a 0-0 draw at Griffin Park, where a frustrating afternoon was summed up by Nikos Karelis not being able to apply the finish to Sergi Canos’ ball across the face of goal deep into injury time.

Boss Frank said: “There were two elements. Stoke are better than their position in the league and they defended very well and came with a good gameplan defensively. They did everything to defend crucial situations.

“Then there’s the final moment, where Nikos at the back stick maybe should have had a tap-in in two minutes over overtime.

“So those moments – you could see it was difficult to break them down.

“The flip side of that is that we of course need to play quicker, less touches, play more forward – all that.”

However, Frank added that Brentford “are very dangerous when it’s clicking” and remains optimistic about their chances this season.
