Brentford boss Dean Smith admitted his side are very much embroiled in a relegation fight after their loss at home to 10-man Blackburn.
Shane Duffy’s late strike condemned the Bees to a 10th defeat in 13 league games and they are just six points outside the bottom three with nine games remaining.
Smith said: “We are in trouble. Rotherham have won again and we’re on a poor run of form, losing too many games.
“It’s a very demoralising defeat. The players are fragile at the moment anyway, so to concede late in that manner is disappointing.
“We’ve got an international break now and we’ve got to work hard on the training pitch and try and put things right.
“We wanted to be hard to beat today. Their lad gets sent off and you probably think there’s only going to be one winner then.
“I said to the players ‘The one thing is you don’t lose the game’, but our defending from the free-kick was very poor.”
Smith started with on-loan Everton striker Leandro Rodriguez and hopes the return of Scott Hogan will give the team a much-needed cutting edge in attack.
He said: “Leandro’s done really well – he’s bright and has lifted us in training – and I have no qualms about him playing in the Championship.
“And with Scott Hogan now back we have more competition and options up front.”

mr Cottrell needs to get reel before were relegated and in the first division and only 5000 supporters in a new stadium mr benham has set this club back 4 years and not even an apology from him or any statement in the program I have been saying it from the day they brought smith in he is not up to the job go back 2 first division foot ball they don't listen man up mr benham you have messed up big time
The Club is in a mess. Again. Great shame but the owner's model for recruitment isn't working sadly. Few club's succeed with directors of football buying and selling. Carsley and Warburton were very special. Smith? I feel for him as he cannot recruit players. Oh dear.
Get real you people, we would be no where near were we are today without Mathew Benham and we have to accept we cannot hang on to our best players when they can move elsewhere and more than double there wages. Its also not true that Warbs left due to some altercation with Mathew Benham, Warbs decided he couldnt work in a process where he did not have final say on transfers, that was his call
I have been a supporter for 58yrs and these are the best times, with the best football and with hope of more to come. We have a new stadium on the way which gives us an increased chance of keeping our better players, I know how frustrating it feels at the moment but we are all fellow supporters who love our club, so lets just get behind the players for the rest of thr season and leave the rest alone, we are not relegated yet are we.
I have been a supporter for 60years I was born in Brentford but live in Cornwall I think its disgusting to get rid of a good manager because he doesn't agree with the owner he could have given him a year then decide.i can't understand why you would sell all of your good players maybe all the owner wants is to get some money back in his bank something has got to change and quick
