Late Wissa equaliser earns Bees a point

Crystal Palace 1 Brentford 1

Yoane Wissa’s late equaliser earned Brentford a point at Selhurst Park.

Wilfried Zaha put Crystal Palace ahead with a brilliant goal just before the hour mark.

Zaha collected Cheick Doucoure’s pass on the edge of the penalty area and sent an unstoppable strike beyond keeper David Raya.

The opener came after Palace’s Michael Olise had hit the post and Zaha had twice been denied by timely blocks from Aaron Hickey.

But the Bees battled on and drew level when Wissa headed home Vitaly Janelt’s 88th-minute cross.

And Ben Mee almost netted a stoppage-time winner for Brentford when his header hit the bar.

Brentford: Raya, Hickey (Ghoddos 79), Jensen (Wissa 79), Zanka, Mee, Henry, Lewis-Potter (Dasilva 68), Baptiste (Damsgaard 58), Janelt, Toney, Mbeumo (Onyeka 68),
