Bees close to £500,000 Barbet deal
Brentford are close to completing a deal to sign French centre-back Yoann Barbet.
The Bees have agreed a €700,000 [just over £500,000] fee with his current club, Chamois Niortais, who finished 11th in France’s second tier last season.
Barbet, 22, is a former France Under-18 international who came through the youth ranks at Bordeaux before being released in 2014.
He has made 33 league appearances for Chamois and scored two goals.
