Toral ‘will get better and better’ – boss

Brentford boss Mark Warburton believes midfielder Jon Toral will continue to improve as the on-loan Arsenal teenager gets accustomed to the rigours of Championship football.

The former Barcelona youngster scored his second senior goal and made just his second league start as the Bees beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Wednesday.

Toral, 19, opened the scoring with a fine goal, punishing Forest for failing to clear the danger in the box by firing the ball into the roof of the net.

Andre Gray netted Brentford's second goal at the City Ground

“I was delighted with Jon,” Warburton said.

“He has come though the famed La Masia Barcelona academy and is a great technical player.

“For Jon, it’s about getting used to the intensity of the Championship. For me, Jon will get better and better. He is still only 19 don’t forget.”

Victory at the City Ground moved the Bees above Forest in the table and to within two points of the play-off places.

“We are not exceeding expectations at all,” Warburton insisted.

“We have got a lot of talent in the squad, a young squad, and they will keep improving.”
