A rampant first-half performance from Brentford saw them smash a dreadful Manchester United side.

Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo scored the goals on a fantastic evening for the Bees, who took the lead on 10 minutes when Dasilva’s low strike crept underneath goalkeeper David De Gea, who should have done better.

It was 2-0 shortly after when Jensen cut out former Brentford man Christian Eriksen’s attempted pass from inside his own box before slotting past De Gea.

Thomas Frank’s side added a third when Mee outmuscled Lisandro Martinez on the goal-line to head in after Ivan Toney had nodded the ball back across goal from a corner.

Brentford piled on the misery even more before half-time when a quick counter through Toney saw him play in strike partner Mbeumo to slot past De Gea.

Cristiano Ronaldo headed wide shortly after the restart and Eriksen spurned a good chance with 10 minutes remaining, hooking wide from a few yards out.
